Seniors Connect - CAUTION!

It all begins when you - a senior or vulnerable person receive - this phone call. "Your daughter ( or friend) suggested I call you to tell you about our security system."

And often the response is, "Well, if she feels it will help me, I will talk to you."

A person will come to your house and introduce you to Seniors Connect.

The following is from the Better Business Bureau:

THIS BUSINESS IS NOT BBB ACCREDITED

Seniors Connect

(902) 252-0703 (Disconnected)148 Lakeview Ave., Middle SackvilleNS B4E 3B5http://seniorsconnect.webs.com
Prior to purchasing a personal security monitoring system the BBB recommends that seniors and their families be cautious of the following:
- Telephone solicitations offering a free system.
- Be wary of any company going door-to-door selling these types of systems.
- Handwritten contracts with no terms and conditions listed.
- No written information on who the monitoring company is.
- High pressure sales techniques.
- Willing to change the price of the system or provide a special deal if money is paid upfront and in full or a credit card number is given.
The BBB also recommends contact be made with Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations to determine if the firm is licensed as a direct seller in the province.

A person who has seen how the Seniors Connect system works said it works well but not great.

  • It calls an ambulance but will not call family members.
  • When it is installed, you talk to a box on the wall.
Life Line, another service
  • It calls 3 people
  • You speak to the service through the button on your clothes
  • It can detect if you fall inside or outside the house.
