CHURCHILL HOUSE AT ITS FESTIVE BEST

Editor's  favourite - but it was a difficult choice.

Festive treats and refreshments will be available here on Saturday.
This may have been the room where the Churchill men met to discuss which ship was being built.
This may have been the sitting room.
Paula Huntley adjusts a mantle decoration at the Churchill House.

Earlier this year Kentville resident Paula Huntley saw a picture of the Churchill House in the paper. She immediately suggested to her partner Margo Corkum that THIS was the house to decorate for them to decorate for the 2013 festive season. This isthe fourth year the women have decorated houses for Christmas. Usually they do a private home but this year they wanted to do something different. This year they are showcasing the beauty of  Churchill House.

I had a sneak preview Thursday morning. While I spoke to Paula,  a cd played "Deck the Halls With Boughs of Holly."

"The Churchill House is stunning and feels like home. Initially Margo and I admired the moulding and the painted walls and ceiling. But now with the pieces we have added, the house is telling a story. We'll miss it when we leave."

David Ripley is decorating the music room.

The Red Barn is also open at no charge and will feature a craft fair. Proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Research, Atlantic Small Dogs Rescue, and Friends of Ferals.
