HARK THE HANTSPORT ANGELS DEC. 5!

The Town of Hantsport continues to find ways to move forward in the face of adversity. One group specifically, the Hantsport and Area Revitalization Committee (HARC), have spurned on a number of great initiatives that will assist the Town in combating the significant tax losses that have occurred in the past two years.
HARC was created over a year ago by a group of citizens that wanted to see a focus on the great things Hantsport has to offer. There are representatives from the local business association (HABA), the Town, local business owners, and the general public. This past summer HARC was fortunate enough to work with a group of young leaders (21 Inc. Group), to host an event called “Imagine Hantsport”. This was an engaging day that allowed citizens of all ages to share their ideas, passions, and dreams for Hantsport, and to develop a list of projects to help the Town they love.

It was easy for the group to develop twelve great ideas that HARC is now actively pursuing. The ideas ranged from attracting a senior’s housing complex, to a community clean-up day, to the idea of hosting hot-air balloon rides. Some ideas have already begun to happen and some are still in the concept phase, but the group is committed to seeing as many of these great ideas develop as possible.
On December 5th from 6-8:30pm everyone is invited to come to Town Hall in Hantsport to learn more about the 12 ideas, to meet some of the committee, and to share with us how you can become involved. At 6pm the Town will be unveiling a mural that was created by artist Anthony Kawalski, as a product of the Imagine Hantsport event. Mr. Kawalski will be on hand to talk about his vision for the mural, how it connects with the Imagine Hantsport event, and how it connects with our future endeavours.
The event on December 5th will be combined with the annual Hantsport Christmas event that same evening. For more information please visit the Town website at www.hantsportnovascotia.com
