1200K AND COUNTING

In March 2013, Hantsport resident Ron Such started Running On Empty (ROE) to raise food for the food bank.

Hantsport Memorial Community Centre is a partner and sponsor of ROE. Ron is First Vice-president of HMCC. 

His results are submitted to his sponsors weekly. They - official and unofficial sponsors - leave grocery items in the Food Bank bin at SAVE EASY and label these items ROE.

“Most of my running is in Hantsport but I try to run once a week in Windsor. In 2013 I have run in Chicago, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Charlotteown, Sydney, Fredericton, Moncton, & Halifax.” As of December 14, Ron has clocked 1200K and he is still running for ROE.

He had considered running in a marathon in Scotland but the date didn't work for him. Now he is considering a marathon on the prairies.

Ron is a cool 64 and is using running as an anecdote to his diabetes.
