Editorial - The horse has left the barn.

Enthusiasm. Passion. Excitement.
For keeping Hantsport a town.
At the public meeting to discuss whether or not to dissolve the town.
But too little.
Too late.
At the November 2013 election for Hantsport Town Council, six people entered the race for six positions as councillor.
There should have been more running for council.
Where was the enthusiasm then?
Where was the passion?
Where was the excitement?
All who entered the race for councillor were in by acclamation.
And they have worked hard.
And we sincerely thank them for that.
It was the same with HMCC.
Public meeting were advertised.
A few from the public might have attended.
The minutes of the meetings were published.
And then the cries, "But we didn't know what you were doing?"

There is a disconnect here, people of Hantsport.
Enthusiasm is great but action is necessary.
We cannot recreate the past.
We can work together for a better future - starting NOW.
I predict that council will vote unanimously with a show of hands to dissolve the town.

The horse has left the barn.
