All of the chairs were full this afternoon as supporters of the Apple Blossom Festival gathered to meet the two candidates vying for the title of Princess Hantsport.   Both 20 year old Rhianna Davison, daughter of Tammy Gillis and John Davison, and Christine Spurr, daughter of Steve and Diana Spurr, spoke passionately and proved that either would represent Hantsport very well.

Christine Spurr was chosen to be our ambassador at the Festival and will be accompanied by Brianna Webster, daughter of Anne and Brad Webster, as her child attendant.   Many past princesses were in attendance as well as some of the current  Apple Blossom princesses.

The master of ceremonies for the afternoon was Kelsey Carey, a former Hantsport princess and Queen Annapolisa.   Guests were welcomed to the tea by Mayor Zwicker and both MLA Chuck Porter and Warden Dauphinee extended their greetings to the gathering.  Carla Price was the convenor of the tea and guests were treated to a gluten-free dessert as well as coffee and tea.

The afternoon started with entertainment by the Valley Voices.   Everyone enjoyed the four selections that they performed before the official business of selecting the princess began.

Farewell remarks by Shelby Davis, Princess Hantsport 2013, reminded everyone in attendance what a wonderful experience being part of the festival brings to each town representative.

We all wish Christine a happy and memorable time as she moves through this season of events in our beautiful Valley.
