Young brothers support rival teams.

(LR) Butch and Dave Young. "I hope I don't need to hug him."

Tonight when Boston and Montreal face off in Boston for the final game of their series, Butch Young will be wearing his Habs cap while his brother David will be wearing his Bruins cap.

(I'm being objective and reporting alphabetically using the first usual names of the two brothers.)

Butch expects to miss the first period. His band has its final practise tonight. He has been a Habs fan since Rocket Richard captured his loyalty.

Dave will be at home with the TV or computer on but with the volume low. He finds it's too nerve-wracking to actually watch these games. He chose to be a Bruins fan in the 1950s. "Montreal was winning every year." He liked the name and the team has strong connections with Nova Scotia.

Dave and Butch's rivalry began in the 1950s. They had a table top hockey game. Dave, the older, drew up a schedule using the six teams in the league at the time. He wrote a weekly newspaper and broadcast the games for him and for Paul.

Just like old times.

Dave proudly wears his Bruins jacket showing that the team has won six Stanley cups. He and his team suffered until Bobby Orr appeared. "A Montreal jacket would need sleeves five feet long to show how many cups they've won," Butch quips.

Predictions:

Winner:
Butch and Dave agree - the game is too close to call. Probable score 2:1.

Brotherly love - Dave gave this to Butch.

1st star player:
Butch: Carey Price if Habs win.
Dave: Tukka Rask if Bruins win.

Winning goal:
Butch: P.K. Subban.
Dave: Patrice Bergeron

Butch thinks it will take him all summer to recover from the excitement of the Stanley Cup.
