Survival of Monarch Buterflies

Unfavourable weather conditions.
Intentional removal of swamp milkweed which is not a noxious plant.
Increasing use of chemical herbicides and pesticides.
Loss of breeding and staging habitats in North America. Logging in wintering grounds in Mexico.
All combine to threaten the survival of the monarch butterfly.

Thanks to Wesley Pitts for these images. He is a member of the butterfly club and sells kits for the club. This includes two milkweed plants.  Contact Wesley at LINK
