For several months town council and town residents have been considering the motion to stop the town's dissolution.
On Monday, December 1, council voted 4:3 to stop the dissolution. Deputy Mayor Harold Bulger with CLLRs Faye Hill, Margot Bureaux, Phil Zamora and supported the motion. Mayor Rob Zwicker and CLLRs Paul Morton with Rob Frederick voted against the motion.
On Tuesday, December 2, Deputy Mayor Harold Bulger changed his mind when council was asked to vote on the motion to stop the dissolution process. He voted to continue the dissolution process and the count was 4:3.
He told council his reason. If the process was stopped, the town might need to pay $400,000 for the reports and work which had gone into the proposed dissolution.
I will have to tip my hat to HB. Although I live in the outer parastic community that wise Hantsport Councillor has raised my respect of him to a new level.
ReplyDeleteHopefully those Councillors who didn't see the same light as HB will be gracious enough to work with those who did.As always....time will tell.
