Jean is a retired McGill professor who returned to her native Nova Scotia years ago. She has resurrected these designs from the Book of Kells, the illustrated manuscript of the Gospels written in Latin  c800 AD. LINK to Trinity College Dublin. Roseanne McInnis is the artist.

Individual clans with their tartans and slogans painted on wooden staves are also available at Scottish Pride.  The staves are between 60 and 100 years old.  A good cooper could make as many as 75 barrels a day. Ross Farm often has a man making barrels - a lost art.

Tartans painted on old wooden staves. A small apple on the right lower corner is the signature of the painter.

This 50 year old Ukraine vest is also for sale.
