Lorraine McQueen, dean of Awesome Hantsport, announced at the public meeting on Sunday at HMCC that Samara Millen and Margot Bureaux are the co-winners of spring contest.

This was the second Awesome Hantsport award. The committee received six applications. The two chosen relate to each other. They will share the grand prize of $1000. The money was donated by 10 area residents. They chose the winners.
Sam's share will provide four picnic tables to be located on the HMCC grounds. HMCC will add an additional $500 for four more tables. Sam is a recent keen supporter of HMCC and a member of the board. She hopes these tables will encourage more families to spend time together on the grounds.
Margot's share will provide five BBQs made by Twist of Iron in Cape Breton. They are made from repurposed propane tanks and will be installed beside picnic tables. Similar BBQs and picnic table combos in Vancouver inspired Margot's idea.
