Beautiful killer weed

At Avonport Beach

On a stump in Hants Border on Avon Street.

Bindweed, related to morning glories, is a weed which grabs hold of anything, strangles it and kills it.

According to local gardener Sandy Miles, "It is a terrible weed. Dig it out of your garden if you can."

When you pull on it, it pulls out of a bush or a tree the way a string of Christmas tree lights do.
