Vote on tax rate cut - 3:3 - and tabled.

Mayor Rob Zwicker favours a tax cut rate of 5 cents per $1000 assessment. It may result in it being  maintained in the future or even lowered. This will reduce the town's revenue by $37,000 this year. This was discussed at the May 6 meeting.

Deputy Mayor Harold Bulger moved that the current rate be kept at $1.69 residential and $3.85 commercial. The town could then keep the pool for another year and maintain the toilets in the park.
A vote was taken. It resulted in 3: 3 account. A tie is considered a negative vote.

Councillor Shannon Cunningham was absent due to work. The vote will be tabled until the next council meeting.

Although CLLR Cunningham no longer lives in town, he can continue as councillor. According to CAO Rob Frost, the Utility and Review Board would not ask for Cunningham to step aside and another vote to be taken.
