Hantsport resident's role in Lizzie Borden: the Fall River Chronicles

Craig Wood plays a bartender in the mini-series Lizzie Borden: the Fall River Chronicles which is being filmed in Windsor, Mount Uniacke, and the Halifax Citadel. You will not recognize him as the man shown above. As he walks his dogAnnie around town, he looks like his character - an 1880s rough neck with long hair and a beard.

Craig has performed in theatre and music in Vancouver and Toronto. He has an agent and auditioned for the part.

In the movie, he's shot. In the original script he died but the writers continued to need him. They decided he had only been wounded.

The story of Lizzie Borden is true. The Sunday School teacher was accused of killing her father and stepmother with an axe in Massachusetts in 1892. She was acquitted because no one believed a woman could commit such a violent act.

The story was featured in a movie in the 1960s. Christina Ricci starred in Lizzie Borden Took An Ax in the remake in 2013. It was filmed in Hantsport and Windsor,

Lizzie Borden: The Fall River Chronicles is fiction. It portrays the life of Borden after she was acquitted.

Craig can't wait to cut off the beard,
