Quick responders in Hantsport

On April 2 in the afternoon paramedics, the Hantsport Fire Department and the RCMP responded within minutes after two children ages 9 and 10 tumbled down the bank behind a Hantsport house to the shore. Both had played together in the yard often. A post and rope were clear indicators of the edge of the bank. The boy's mother was keeping an eye on them. But they decided to slide down it anyway.
The boy who lives in the house alerted his mother who called 911. After help arrived and the girl's family alerted, she was taken to hospital for treatment.
Someone called in the story to The Chronicle Herald. Apparently Hantsport deputy fire chief Paul Maynard refused to give the names of those involved to the reporter. No names were mentioned in the article.
A longtime resident of the street confirmed that these were not the only children to fall accidentally over the bank. Adults have too.
