Mayoral election results in Herald incorrect

When I saw the results of the Hantsport mayoral election the morning after the election in the Chronicle Herald, I knew they were wrong. 

I had heard the correct results on the night of the election and they were confirmed the next day by the town. And Karrie confirmed them this morning.

They were: 

Total voters was 500

300 for Robbie Zwicker

195 for Lorraine McQueen

5 Spoiled Ballots

We had 51.9 percent voter turn out

I was speaking to former councillor Martin Gillis last night at the reception for Dr. Canete. He  commented on the huge voter turnout of 90%. He had read this in the paper. He was amazed when I told him the figure was 51.9%.

Apparently no one from Hantsport told the paper that their figures were wrong. 

This morning I emailed Gordon Delaney and asked him to get back to me with their figures. I also suggested that the paper indicate its mistake. 

I'll keep you informed about his response.
