$683.63 + food donated to Hantsport Food Bank

(LR) Food Bank's Brian Bishop and Shirley Bishop with HABA's Margot Bureaux and Penny
Wheeler.
Margot Bureaux, town council's rep on Hantsport and Area's Business Association (HABA) and HABA member, with HABA member Penny Wheeler gave $683.63 and a basket of food to the Food Bank's Brian and Shirley Bishop on Dec. 16.

The donations resulted from the Chilli Supper which HABA organized and delivered on Dec. 15. The supper was in lieu of prizes it handed out on the town's Christmas Shopping night in other years.
"People were delighted with the supper on the Monday night before Christmas week," Margot said. They viewed it as a worthy cause. Those who brought food donations refused a discount on the price of the supper. This successful event will be organized again in 2013.

The food will be stored in a room in the William Street CafĂ©. The food bank will be closed  in January. People are encouraged to call Feed Nova Scotia at 902-457-1900.
