Brief summary on the day after the night before.
One of last night's passionate discussions dealt with the departure of Dr. Yuri Canete. Council will take an active role in finding a new one.
Last night's marathon meeting began at 7 PM. At 9:30, the press was asked to leave for the council to have an incamera session.
Council with the mayor and councillors and CAO are really keen to work. They dealt with policy changes, the budget, committees of council, committee of the whole, etc., etc., etc.
There was lots of interaction, exchange of ideas, lively discussion, and humour.
Mayor Rob Zwicker is a great chairman. He introduces topics. He asks for discussion. And then he asks for the will of council. Occasionally he expresses his views.
Don't forget! Public meeting Wednesday, January 23 at 7 PM at the fire hall. Council will record comments so that none of them will be forgotten.
