Shared thoughts on amalgamation

You asked my thoughts on the presentation on Queen`s County`s amalgamation.  I was sick and unable to attend the presentation by Mr. Leefe.  I did review the power point presentation and to be honest I thought it was well presented and something our area should investigate at the least.  Hantsport is a bit unique being a border town between two large rural municipalities.  Would we look to the east or two the west.  Would we be better to remain as we are.

 As always how we proceed would depend on the will of Council.  I would be in favour at the least of gathering the required information to make an informed decision.

I thought that it was well presented. They were right to involve the public in every step and explained the pros and cons as the process proceeded. With HRM and CBRM, I think that this is what the future will eventually bring.   I think as a community we are not there yet, but will get there in the future. For the near future, however, we should be looking at some shared services with our neighbouring communities .
