On Friday, union President Jerry Morine was unable to give details about how much the union was asking for and how much CKF was offering. "I'm not a liberty to say. We just want a decent wage."
The executive is suggesting the members accept the offer. The big issues are to maintain the current pension plan and to give the employees a raise.
Three information meetings were held for the members on Friday. The latest contract expired on December 31.
Mayor and CKF employee Rob Zwicker said that a strike would be absolutely awful. "We lost Minas. A long strike will mean that CKF will either relocate aor shut down entirely. The production rate is excellent. We want the best deal for both parties."
BOTH A UNION MEMBER AND THE MAYOR HAVE PROMISED NEWS & VIEWS THAT THEY WILL INFORMED ME OF THE RESULTS OF THE VOTE LATER TODAY.
