"Every dollar spent in a community changes hands severn times."

EDITORIAL:

The above statement is an accepted economic principal, according to the authors of the book 13 Ways to Kill Your Community. The following example applies this to Hantsport:

  • I bought a pizza at Hantsport Pizzeria on the weekend.
  • An employee from there then bought something at PHARMASAVE.
  • An employee from there bought something at the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation.
  • An employee from there bought something from Home Hardware.
  • An employee from there bought something from Save Easy.
  • An employee from there had work on the car done at Bird's Auto.
  • An employee from there had lunch at William Square CafĂ©.
Where price and quality compare, buying local makes sense if we want to maintain our existing businesses and to attract new businesses.
