Vintage Compacts - the Porter Collection.

Women have been wearing cosmetics for centuries but it wasn’t until the 20th Century that the powder compact made its first appearance.  Before the universal plastic compact of today there were decades of  unique and often beautifully designed compacts which reflected the era and tastes of the decades in which they were made.  To learn more about the evolution of the compact, and see over seventy on display we invite you to visit the
Karen Porter Collection currently showing at the Kings County Museum in Kentville until November 15, 2013.
