Fundy Gypsum/ budget/volunteer of the year/new library

Fundy Gypsum may appeal its assessment, CAO Rob Frost stated at the committee of the whole meeting on January 21.

Frost foresees another tough year in putting together the budget. A public meeting will be held in February to discuss it.

Nominations for Hantsport's Volunteer of the Year will close February 14. Anyone in the catchment area may nominate and/or be nominated. Application forms are available at town hall.

Some people in the town do not know why the library is being moved. This became obvious at the January Sip & Chat meeting at town hall. CLLT Harold Bulger, chair of the Library Committee, reminded council that the committee's mandate is  to explore options and costs for providing public library services in Hantsport. The committee will hold a public meeting in mid-February to discover what the people want the library to look like. The committee has a steering committee and a fund-raising committee. The pricing and design of the building will be present to town council in April or May.
