Keeshaun Such/Hantsport (14) was part of a AAA Select Bantam Baseball team traveling to Cuba last week for a series of 5 ball games. The team consisted of players from across Nova Scotia.
The team not only played ball but also had an opportunity to visit underprivileged areas of Cuba and interact with Cuban players, coaches and families.
They visited two schools, gave out school supplies, clothing, sports equipmentand donated baseball equipment to the Cuban Minor Baseball Association. One of the highlights was having the Cuban players, families and coaches come to their resort for an entire day. This is quite unusual in Cuba and a real highlight of the trip. The Canadian team is now working hard in an attempt to bring the Cuban team here this summer for a series of exhibition games across Atlantic Canada.
The games were close and entertaining. Canada ended up with 3 wins one tie and one loss.
