"My goal was to get people in town involved and we accomplished that", Paul said. "Hantsport was ready for a winter carnival." He started making plans in October.
Boundary Reviews are held every four years in Nova Scotia. And one will be held in 2014.
The provincial government wants information on the size of current council sizes for comparison. Council will ask the public how many councillors Hantsport needs. It will reach a decision by the fall. Councillor Rob Fredericks suggested the council could be reduced from 6 to 4. Deputy Mayor Harold Bulger agreed.
Hantsport is considering sharing the services of a bylaw officer with Wolfville and Windsor. Kentville is thinking of reducing the number of police officers and increasing the number of bylaw officers, according to CAO Rob Frost.
The town has been asked to contribute to the March 29 fund raiser for operations for Melissa Morse, a former resident and town employee, according to DM Bulger. Legislation forbids a town to donate to an individual. It can, however, support the fund raiser.
The town will consider the cost of the flag system at crosswalks which is being used successfully in Port Williams. CLLR Paul Morton made this motion. The system could be used at the Chittick and School streets intersection and at the School and Main streets intersection.
PUBLIC MEETING: WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 26 - 7 PM AT THE FIRE HALL.
