Public Works March 31 8 AM.

As I was walking Ali at about 8 AM today, a town resident who was driving past stopped to talk.  He old me that yesterday his car hit a pothole on Foundry Road and was seriously damaged.

After I arrived home I picked up my camera before leaving for my short walk.

Public Works was already on the job - and that was only a few minutes after 8!

Ryan Mercier, the driver of one of the PW vehicles, confirmed that potholes are bad in Hantsport and across the province. The cold weather and the sudden thaws are responsible.

This was the worse pothole but the repair is only temporary.  It can only be  fully repaired in the spring
- whenever that is.

Like a lot of flat roads, Foundary Road is particularly vulnerable because the water on Foundry Field washes down to the road and stays there. The water deteriorates the pavement.

This information will not pay the bills for the resident's car. But the speed at which Public Works responded shows that the town knows the problem and tries to solve it asap.
