The truth is libraries are raucous clubhouses for free speech, controversy and community.

The Isabel & Roy Jodrey Memorial Library is now open!
Since opening June 27th the Library has been delightfully busy. And the reviews are good. Very good. Although still a work in progress, and as we find where best to put this and where to move that, everyone is "lovin' this space"! To see what is going on there this summer check out the AVRL's calendar ... or, if you haven't already, stop in for a visit!
Please note: the Official Opening of the Isabel & Roy Jodrey Memorial Library is being planned for Wednesday, September 23rd at 10am with an Open House to follow ... please pencil it in your calendar and join us for this celebration.
In the meanwhile ...
The Friends of the Hantsport Public Library (FHPL) Summer Raffle draw date of July 31st is fast approaching ... please consider supporting the FHPL as we continue to fundraise for our new Library and the renovation of the lower level for Library programs & community use. And if you can drop into Hantsport's Scotiabank to purchase your ticket (or have someone stop in for you) all the better, as Scotiabank is matching all tickets sold at the bank! Otherwise, give us a shout and we'll do what we can to get a ticket to you! Thanks!
And lastly ... on August 26th at 7pm the FHPL will be hosting the launch of local author Brian Bishop's book Barber Shop Baseball - A History of The Hantsport Shamrocks at Churchill House (6 Main St) in Hantsport. A comprehensive history of this community's baseball team with over 100 photos and illustrations, we congratulate Brian on his accomplishment and are very pleased to be hosting this event. Do hope you can join us.

And now finally ... if you would like to continue to receive sporadic FHPL emails about what is going on at the Isabel & Roy Jodrey Memorial Library with respect to programs, events and FHPL fundraising ... that's great! If you would rather not receive future emails from me re these goings on ... please reply email to this message and request to be taken off the 'mailing list' ... no hard feelings.
Thank you for your support!
Regards,
Leah
