Hantsport School renovations to date

It is amazing what can be accomplished in seven weeks. There have been
an average of 30 worker at the school every day from the beginning of
July.

Here are three pictures taken today (Aug. 20) of the P/1 Classroom and the 1/2
Classroom. Teachers will be able to come in next week to set up the new
spaces. The summer efforts have centered on getting the 10 new, larger
classrooms on the second floor ready for students and to complete the
redesigned bus loop, sidewalk and student drop off loop. The parking lot
and bus loop have been changed, and there is now a sidewalk from the
parking lot to the school!

The final coat of pavement will be put on tomorrow. We actually have
gained play area! What was the morning bus loop is now a student DROP
OFF area for parents (not parking) and the trees have been moved to
accommodate this.

There is still a lot of work to be done on the main level of the
school. The next areas to be completed are the Family Studies Lab, Gym
Ventilation, Music Room, Art Room, the Main Office area, and finally the
cafeteria and the library. Completion for all will be this winter.
