Romans' Family Benefit Auction

The Romans' Family Benefit scheduled for September 26th at the Hantsport Baptist Church Fellowship Hall is being well supported with donations of auction items. Shirley Bishop says: "Community support is awesome.  We already have over 100 items to be sold in our silent and live auction.  It will be a fun evening with all funds going to support Margaret, Audrey and Bill. There are some unique and noteworthy items such as a week-end stay at Raye Myles' Lighthouse cottage and a signed print by internationally acclaimed landscape artist David Howells.  Some lucky bidder will get four decadent desserts each Friday for four weeks courtesy of Hantsport home-chef Rob Lewis."
This auction features many goodies made in our community.  The overwhelming response will provide those attending with an opportunity to stock their pantries with preserves, baking goods and other tasty treats from some fantastic community chefs.  Donations include dozens of gift certificates, art work, crafts and much more, all contributed by local talented artisans. Jo Hazel, one of the event organizers, noted: "We have people who have offered to do hiking, museum, and cemetery tours or teach you to knit or crochet or do senior's sitting so you can do errands! You can even get your garden tilled so you can grow your own veggies. There has been great imagination used as donors offered their time, talents and treasures. It is going to be a wonderful community event for the whole family. There will even be children's auction at no cost!"                                                                                                         It all begins at 6PM with a dessert party for $5.00 per person.  These are generous sized portions accompanied by a beverage.  "All we need is a large turnout and the eventual winners will be Margaret and her family" say the two women whose husband's Tim and Brian will be the auctioneers. Rumours are, the two men have a few tricks up their sleeves to make this a fun-filled evening.  Payment accepted by: cash, cheque, credit or debit card.

For those unable to attend but wish to support this worth cause, donations can be made at Valley branches of Scotiabank, or if desiring an income tax receipt, by forwarding your contribution to Hantsport Baptist Church Benevolent Fund, PO Box 152, Hantsport, NS  B0P 1P0
