Dr. Yuki Canete leaving Hantsport

Hantsport Once Again Looking for a Doctor
The Town of Hantsport will restart efforts to recruit a family doctor for Hantsport, after the Town received notice yesterday that Dr. Yuri Canete has decided that he will not be renewing his contract when it ends in March in order to pursue other opportunities.
For over a year an action team comprised of former Mayor Folker, Capital District Health Authority, Town staff, the local Pharmasave, and MLA Chuck Porter worked tirelessly to attract a physician to Hantsport. The Town was very pleased to have Dr. Canete here, and will once again begin searching.
Mayor Robbie Zwicker stated, “It’s unfortunate that Dr. Canete will not be staying, we wish him well in his future endeavours. We are committed to getting the team working on this right away, and I know that Town staff has already started the process of working with CDHA to contact potential candidates again.”

"Devastating news for the town and patients of the Hantsport Collaborative Practice!
So many folks are unable to travel out of town to search for a new physician (and that is if you can even find one who is accepting new patients).

I encourage all citizens of the town and outlying areas serviced by the practice to telephone Capital Health and our political representatives at all levels of government, including the town office, to voice your concern regarding the lack of a medical doctor in our town, and of our critical need for one.
