Goodby to Dan & Marion Jamer.

The farewell on Saturday evening for Pastor’s Dan and Marion Jamer was a wonderful evening with a great turnout by church and community folks.  Farewell addresses and words of appreciation were given by numerous community and church affiliated organizations that they have been involved in during their time here.  A “Lillian Irvine print” of the Baptist Church was presented to the couple by Kathleen Green, chairperson of the Baptist Church Board of Deacons and a “money tree” was presented on behalf of the church and community.  The Jamers have been in Hantsport for over eight years, and in their remarks, expressed the love they have felt as members of this community.  In July, Dan Jamer, Hantsport’s 2013 Volunteer of the Year, will become senior pastor of the St. Stephen Baptist church in NB.  Marion will continue studies toward completion of her Doctorate degree.  The more than two hundred well wishers sang “Farewell to Nova Scotia” to this popular couple before enjoying a time of refreshments and fellowship.
