PAINT THE PORT - revived.

Jim. a budding artist.
Carol Morrison of Oakfield painted St. Andrews Anglican Church.

Hantsport and area has been home to many artists through the years. And it still is. Several of them and others came from Windsor, Canning, Ellershouse, Oakfield, and beyond for Hantsport's Paint the Port. Long-time artists and beginners attended.

Organizers feared a rainy and cold day on July 20. Instead it was extremely hot and everyone headed for shady cool places. Except Bertina Evers who, covered from head to foot in white, stood by the boxcars in the intense heat.

In addition to working at various sites, artists also brought finished pieces which they displayed in the Red Barn.

Six would-be artists attended Anthony Kawalski's workshop held in the cool foyer of the town hall. Anthony spoke about the light in Nova Scotia which he, as an artist, finds exceptional. He was quiet, calm, and encouraging.

We all hope that this is the first of annual Paint the Ports. Several of these events were held in the past but, when there was only one volunteer,  it ended.
