TAPESTRY - yoga helps women recovering from cancer

Yoga instructor Jennifer White demonstrates deep breathing

Many women who have cancer suffer physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially.
Tapestry is a new cancer support group in the Valley for women with and/or recovering from some type of cancer. The women meet the 3rd Thursday of the month for pot luck lunch and speakers.

They experience chemo fog.
They experience severe psychological distress. They can lose part of their memory. They lose self-confidence.
They are horrified to discover that one prothesis costs $400. See Comfy Curves page on this blog.

But women from their 20s to the 80s find emotional support with Tapestry. They regain confidence in their abilities.

Yoga can benefit women recovering from cancer, according to yoga instructor Jennifer White. It can improve life and be fun. She demonstrated poses done while seated and breathing exercises.

Jennifer demonstrates breathing from the diaphragm .

And the lion's roar!
